Theatrical Play in the Classroom

Monday, Jul 23 - Friday, Jul 27, 2018
Theatrical Play in the Classroom
This course is open to all teachers and offered for 3 P-credits for NYC DOE Teachers.

The benefits of arts-based play are vast! They support the development of a child's creativity, problem-solving skills, self-confidence, communication skills and more! Theatrical Play in the Classroom will engage you as both artist and educator to gain knowledge and skills in ensemble-based theater, physical theater, clowning, playwriting and devised theater.

After a week of theatrical play, you'll be able to develop interdisciplinary lesson plans that build student engagement in their learning, collaboration and critical thinking skills, as well as deepen the skills students need to acquire in English Language Arts, all through play-based theater!
