2020-21 Season FAQ

Why did you choose to cancel the New Victory season?

Restrictions on indoor public gathering capacities and limited resources leaves us with a situation outside of our control and makes it impossible for us to continue our normal operations this season. The New Victory season features shows from all over the world so we will continue to showcase international artists in this season’s free virtual programming New Victory Arts Break: Explore a World of Arts.

What does this mean for the tickets I bought last season?

If you have funds from last season on account with us, we will contact you once the rest of the season’s programs are announced. In the meantime, please contact Ticket Services at 646.223.3010 (M-F 11am-5pm) with any questions.

What are you doing with School Partnerships?

School Partnerships will continue this year with access to numerous performing arts resources for educators. Additionally, for the first time, parents will be able to participate in school partnerships, offering opportunities for live, interactive workshops led by New Victory Teaching Artists and access to the same resources usually reserved for schools and educators. Visit our Schools page for more details.

When will your next in-person performance be scheduled?

We just don’t know yet, but we promise to be in touch the minute we do. While we look forward to the day we’re able to welcome you back into our theater, we remain focused on providing free and vital arts-filled resources for parents, teachers and families to stay creative and keep the performing arts alive in your community, as we continue to meet you where you are.

Will these canceled shows be returning in the future?

As Artistic Director Mary Rose Lloyd shared with the affected artists, she will make every effort to reschedule the companies into a future season. We are in communication with these artists and our entire New Victory artist family, and continue to send them well wishes from here in New York.

When will you share about next summer and the next season?

We continue to plan for the season ahead. The world keeps changing and until we are confident the time is right, we will wait to make an announcement about our return to in-theater performing arts programming. We look forward to providing you with the flexibility and affordability that you need and can’t wait to gather together as a community again!
