General FAQ

What are your Covid-19 safety guidelines?

Review our policies and guidelines that protect the health and safety of our audiences, artists and staff.

Is the New Victory accessible?

New Victory welcomes all. We foster an atmosphere of inclusion and, through our facilities and programs, strive to make our performances and spaces accessible. Wheelchair-accessible seating is available at every performance, and select performances of each production are American Sign-Interpreted, Audio-Described and Sensory-Friendly.

Learn more about our Accessibility programs and services.

How do you set your age recommendations?

New Victory Teaching Artists and staff work together with the company that creates each show and considers the type of show, length and audience feedback from past performances when developing age recommendations.

  • “For ages 4 – 7” means a show was created with specific ages in mind.
  • “For everyone 8 and up” means 8 is the youngest advisable age.

You know your kid better than anyone and should use your judgment in deciding what to see.

If you have any questions, please call 646.223.3010 and we will gladly assist you. And those who are young at heart are always welcome, with or without a kid!

What time should we get there?

The house will open 45 minutes before curtain to give patrons ample time to get to their seats. Lobbies, restrooms and the New Victory Cafe will also be open.

What if we arrive late?

A live video feed of the performance is available on lobby monitors so latecomers may watch the show until they are seated by our staff. As a courtesy to the performers and seated audience members, late seating will only occur at designated times. Late seating varies by production.

Can I eat at the New Victory?

Pre-packaged light snacks and beverages will be available in the New Victory Cafe. We ask that you please refrain from eating in the theater.

Can I bring my stroller?

Yes! Space for stroller parking is available. Ask an usher for instructions when you arrive.

For your convenience, free lockers are available to store your belongings, but we ask that large bags or backpacks be left at home. All bags are subject to inspection.

May I take photos or videos of the performance?

We love to see photos of your family having fun before or after the show (tag @NewVictoryTheater on Instagram)! However, photo or video capture of the performance is not allowed and, in some cases, can even be dangerous for the performers!

How can I contact Lost & Found?

Lost and Found inquiries can be made to our Stage Door receptionist daily from 10am-6pm. Please call 646.223.3020.

How can I get my show on the New Victory stage?

If you want to submit your show to our Artistic Programming Department for consideration, see our Artist Submissions page for more detail.

If you are a theater artist interested in opportunities to develop work for young audiences further, learn more about our LabWorks program.

Ticketing FAQ

When and how can I access my mobile tickets?

All tickets, including those purchased at the box office, will be delivered electronically.

Mobile tickets will be sent to you via SMS and/or email on the day-of, or are available in your New Victory account starting at 4pm the day before your performance. To view your mobile tickets, visit NewVictory.org/MyTickets and log in to your account.

If you cannot access a mobile device or a printer, you may request hard tickets from the box office when you arrive at the theater.

I can’t use my tickets—what can I do?

If you can’t attend your scheduled performance, you can exchange your tickets until the day before your show or donate them back for a tax deduction up to two (2) hours before showtime. Upgrades to a higher-priced section or performance must be paid during the exchange.

To initiate a ticket change, fill out an online ticket change request or call Ticket Services at 646.223.3010.

The show is sold out. Can I still get tickets?

We create wait lists when productions sell out. Call 646.223.3010 for more information.

What happens if a performance is canceled?

If a performance is canceled, all ticket buyers are notified by email, text and phone. We recommend that patrons update their account information with their preferred contact information and opt-in to these notifications. Ticket buyers can exchange into a different performance, donate the ticket value, save the balance towards a future purchase or request a refund.

SMS-based Performance Alerts will only used for mobile ticket delivery, last-minute show cancellations and other specific performance information. They do not contain promotional content.

Does my kid need a ticket? Even if they’ll sit on my lap?

Everyone attending a New Victory performance needs a ticket. If availability allows, we can offer Lap Seats for little ones under 3 years old. These tickets are sold at the lowest available price in the theater. If you are purchasing a Lap Seat for your baby or toddler, they must remain in your lap for the duration of the performance. Lap Seats must be arranged by speaking with a Ticket Services representative at 646.223.3010.

Do you offer group rates?

Groups of 15 people or more receive a 20% to 30% discount—the more people, the better the discount. Bring a group to three or more performances in one season and take an additional 5% off your ticket price.

For more information, please contact Amanda Sellers, Group Sales and Audience Development Manager, at 646.223.3014 or GroupSales@NewVictory.org.
