About the Workshop

Théâtre Motus, the company behind this season’s production of Baobab, creates original plays for young audiences and their families. The company utilizes puppetry arts and live music to build bridges and foster free-flowing dialogue between cultures.

Taking inspiration from both Baobab and Théâtre Motus, this imaginative workshop will explore puppetry from the ground up! With materials provided, you’ll create unique rod and hand puppets and employ personal storytelling, music and more to bring your magnificent moveable models to life.

This workshop will hold fast to New Victory Education’s guiding pillar of “Community,” giving you the tools to take puppetry to a whole new level in your classroom and create cool, communal works of art.

Participants will be offered one complimentary ticket to see Baobab at 3pm on Saturday, March 11, at The New Victory Theater.
