What’s New at New 42 – June 2025

What an incredibly exciting time to be at New 42. As you may have heard (from all of our shouting from the rooftops!), our nonprofit is the recipient of a 2025 Tony Honor for Excellence in the Theatre. Our Board Chairman Fiona Howe Rudin and I were honored to represent New 42 at Tony Awards events including the big night at Radio City Music Hall. You can watch our acceptance speech here:

As Fiona says—as we look forward, we’re more committed than ever to pushing the boundaries of what’s
possible—for artists, for young people and for the cultural life of New York City.

So what’s next? Starting July 1, we are thrilled to welcome Henry Tisch as our new Board Chairman. Henry has served on the New 42 Board since 2020 and is a Tony Award-winning producer and co-founder of the multimedia production company Key to the City Productions. He has many accolades for his work, but a highlight for me is that Henry is the first New 42 Board member to have grown up attending shows at the New Victory. Our future is looking bright with Henry at the helm.

And in only three weeks, the New Victory stage comes alive with our annual mini-festival of NYC dance curated specifically for kids! Emceed by New Victory Teaching Artists, each New Victory Dance program showcases a diverse lineup of acclaimed NYC-based dance companies. You have three chances to see them in July.

All the best,

The New Victory Family Benefit on Sunday, April 27, was a joyful, high-flying, sold-out success! This unforgettable event featured a breathtaking performance of MOYA, a stilt-walker-led parade down 42nd Street, and family fun and games at Dave & Buster’s. Every memorable moment helped support New Victory arts education and engagement programs, bringing extraordinary performing arts to even more kids and families across New York City.
