Continuing Cora’s Legacy

With Cora Cahan’s time at The New 42nd Street coming to a close, we’re reflecting on all that she accomplished in her 29 year tenure as President & CEO. When Cora created The New Victory Theater, her goal was to show the world that New Yorkers could once again return to West 42nd Street. How could she have known that in just over two decades, the “little theater that could” would become internationally recognized for being the largest provider of live performing arts to NYC public school kids, bringing the world’s finest shows to New York City families, and providing 500,000 hours of paid employment to NYC teens.

We look forward to carrying on Cora Cahan’s legacy, as we move forward with our next President & CEO, Russell Granet. Learn more about her immense impact on the New 42 and the arts in New York City with a video we created to bid farewell to our fearlessly audacious leader.
