Paper Planet
Polyglot Theatrefrom Melbourne, Australia

Venture into a wild woodland unlike any other. There, a dragon! Look, a butterfly! In PAPER PLANET, kids and their adults team up to explore a jungle of cardboard trees filled with paper flora and fauna. Folding, scrunching and crawling, families contribute original art and populate the ever-changing environment with their own rustling paper creations. When the mic comes around for a chance to chime in and add silly sounds to the music of Mother Nature, kids are sure to get wrapped up in this forest of fun.

"An interactive and controlled chaotic foray into the making of a paper world. In this world, kids are the leaders ... This is children's play invisibly directed and unfolding."

Getting to Know Polyglot Theatre

Transporting an audience to a whole new planet sounds like a big task, but Polyglot Theatre is up to the challenge. They've done it before with Tangle, part dance party and part interactive weaving installation (Lincoln Center Out of Doors, 2012), and Muckheap, a junkyard crossed with a puppet show, which premiered in 2001 and is still touring. With that sort of reputation, you're invited to play in the cardboard trees, jump into the paper leaves, build boulders out of crumpled newspaper and create creatures from sheets of loose-leaf. Interactive, imaginative and constantly evolving, Polyglot presents another out-of-this-world experience!

Your Trip to Our Theaters

Just steps from the Times Square-42nd Street subway stops, The New Victory is a 499-seat, historic, jewel box theater restored to its original glory. The majority of our shows are presented here, in the oldest operating theater in New York City. Down in the lobby you'll find stroller parking, free lockers to store your stuff, healthy snacks and New Vic merch to take home.

Located inside the New 42nd Street Studios building, The Duke on 42nd Street is home to New Victory programming that requires a more intimate space.

Located just down the block from The New Victory Theater, the New 42nd Street Studios host New Vic shows geared towards our youngest audience members. The space allows for a variety of seating configurations, including options for floor seating, making it easy to move around and step out of the theater area if you and yours need to do so. Stroller parking and changing tables are available.
