Mons Dansafrom Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain

A seemingly plain room becomes a playpen of surprises when a solo dancer discovers silly stories everywhereon the doors of a wardrobe, upon the covers of a bed and even in the opening of a drawer. Set to a sunny soundtrack, MINIMÓN (which translates to "small world") uses lyrical movement, clever projections and a little magic to make dreamers of us all. Families are in for a treat when, after the show, young theatergoers are invited to explore this wondrous, small world.

"An oasis of purity, tenderness and charm"

Getting to Know Mons Dansa

From sunny Barcelona, Mons Dansa creates artful and fantastical dance works for kids. With its whimsical humor and playful projections, MINIMÓN is no exception. Mons Dansa encourages the audience to be more than spectators by inviting them to experiment with the feelings and ideas of the show through guided activities with the artist after the performance. The company leads educational and artistic programs throughout Spain, which introduce contemporary dance to public school students. Now, the dance magic of this small world will inspire the students, kids and families of New York City too.

Your Trip to Our Theaters

Just steps from the Times Square-42nd Street subway stops, The New Victory is a 499-seat, historic, jewel box theater restored to its original glory. The majority of our shows are presented here, in the oldest operating theater in New York City. Down in the lobby you'll find stroller parking, free lockers to store your stuff, healthy snacks and New Vic merch to take home.

Located inside the New 42nd Street Studios building, The Duke on 42nd Street is home to New Victory programming that requires a more intimate space.

Located just down the block from The New Victory Theater, the New 42nd Street Studios host New Vic shows geared towards our youngest audience members. The space allows for a variety of seating configurations, including options for floor seating, making it easy to move around and step out of the theater area if you and yours need to do so. Stroller parking and changing tables are available.
