About the Show

Feel the undeniable intensity of real movement as the fearless Action Heroes of STREB EXTREME ACTION fall, flip, fly and crash in a marathon of physical fortitude. Across a series of action events choreographed by daredevil Elizabeth Streb, she and her Action Heroes name the impossible and then do it. Busting out of their comfort zones, they harness the power of life's invisible forces—gravity, velocity, momentum, impact—to propel their bodies where most would never go. They slam to the ground, explode into the air and inspire genuine athletic awe. But no: DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME.

Things to Know

  1. 1

Ready? Aim... T-Shirt! Halfway through the show, STREB performers haul out a t-shirt cannon! Exciting stuff, but stay seated and safe—t-shirts will fly to every level of the theater so you don't have to.

  2. 2

While STREB Lab for Action Mechanics (SLAM) in Brooklyn hosts classes for kids as young as 18 months, DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME is recommended for ages 7 and up due to the show's deliberate pace.

  3. 3

Combining experimental dance with marvelous daredevilry and their signature Action Machines, STREB performers call themselves Extreme Action Heroes to highlight the magnitude of the physical feats they undertake.

About the Artists

STREB's mission is built around MacArthur "Genius" Award-winner Elizabeth Streb's organizing principle of "Extreme Action," a movement style that thrills participants, audiences and students with choreographed feats of scientifically planned chaos. Offering all-ages classes at their Brooklyn lab, STREB pushes participants to achieve their personal bests with approachable, adaptable techniques for all body types and skill levels.
