About the Show

Good night, sleep tight, close your eyes and let your dreams take flight! Fall fast asleep and wake up in the world of Wink, where mountains morph into oceans, twinkling stars turn into fish and ships sail into the night sky. With playful shadow puppetry, magical movement, whimsy and wonder, Spellbound Theatre (The World Inside Me, 2019) brings you the sweet dreams of a small girl and her teddy as they adventure across land, sea and air. After all, anything is possible under moonlight’s spell!

Remarkably captivating

Did You Know?

  1. Wink is inspired by Eugene Field’s 1889 poem “Wynken, Blynken, and Nod,” the dreamlike bedtime story of three young sailors who go fishing among the stars in a wooden shoe.
  2. Through shadow puppetry, projections and brilliant physicality, Wink communicates a world of adventure without saying a word.
  3. When developing Wink, the artists of Spellbound Theatre brought music, puppets and other materials into preschool classrooms to find out what resonated most with their target audience.
